North American Valorant League (NAVL) preseason action was thrown into chaos last night after Kurukshetra Academy, managed by natetherat, abruptly withdrew from the league just hours before their scheduled opening match against Fortior’s Divinity.
According to league officials, Kurukshetra Academy informed NAVL staff of their withdrawal just hours before game time. The organization did not provide a detailed public statement, but sources inside the league confirmed that multiple roster issues and internal departures played a role.
One of the most notable exits came from a player named Fadedd, who has since been officially picked up by Team Infinite Zero. The move immediately sent shockwaves through the preseason landscape, as Infinite Zero now gains a key player heading into their own campaign.
With Kurukshetra Academy’s sudden exit creating an imbalance in conference sizes, NAVL officials acted quickly to maintain competitive structure.
Team Infinite Zero has now been reassigned from the NAVL RED Conference to the NAVL BLUE Conference to help even out team numbers following the departure.
This shift ensures both conferences remain competitively balanced ahead of the season’s official start.
To ensure scheduled matches could still take place and preseason integrity remains intact, NAVL staff assembled an emergency “filler team,” composed primarily of league staff members stepping in as temporary players.
While unconventional, league officials say the move was necessary to keep the preseason schedule running smoothly and provide opponents with a fair opportunity to compete.
Despite the Academy roster’s withdrawal, natetherat’s main Kurukshetra roster will remain in the NAVL and is still expected to compete in the upcoming official season.
League officials confirmed that the main roster is unaffected by the Academy team’s departure and remains in good standing.
The sudden withdrawal has already reshaped the NAVL preseason narrative:
Team Infinite Zero emerges stronger with the addition of Fadedd
Conference realignment has altered competitive matchups
NAVL staff stepping in as players creates a unique preseason storyline
Kurukshetra’s main roster still aims to contend in the official season
While the preseason began with an unexpected dropped team, NAVL officials remain confident in the league’s direction. With new rosters forming, conferences shifting, and storylines already unfolding, the stage is set for one of the most unpredictable NAVL seasons yet.
For now, all eyes turn to how Team Infinite Zero performs in the BLUE Conference—and whether Kurukshetra’s main roster can overcome the early turbulence when the regular season begins.
